Football stirs a lot of emotions, and right now, like all of you, we are feeling frustration and disappointment. Our recent on-field performances haven't met our expectations, and we know we are capable of much better.
The mid-season bye gave us a chance to reflect and plan for the future. It's time for all clubs to evaluate their football operations and other areas. We've had some rigorous discussions about our recent performances, reaffirming our commitment to a football-first approach.
Key Points:
Mid-Season Reflection: Utilized the bye to evaluate and plan.
Focus on Improvement: Rigorous discussions and added resolve.
Commitment to Progress: Determined to enhance performance across all levels.
Youth Development: Highlighting growth from emerging players.
AFLW Updates: Changes in the coaching panel and new appointments.
Thebarton Oval Precinct: Exciting developments approved and designs finalized.
Mid-Season Reflection
During this period, it's standard to review all operations, focusing on football first. Our recent results have sparked plenty of intense conversations, and we’re pushing harder than ever to improve.
Focus on Improvement
We are exploring every possible way to enhance our performance. From the Board of Directors down, we are united in our determination to see an upswing in our results. This involves continuous evaluation in the weeks and months ahead.
Commitment to Progress
After a significant overhaul of the men’s playing list, we've seen steady improvement in our ladder position over the past three years. History shows that rebuilds are rarely smooth; there will be ups and downs. However, it’s encouraging to see genuine growth from emerging players like Jake Soligo, Max Michalanney, Luke Nankervis, and Josh Worrell.
Youth Development
AFLW Updates
Our AFLW pre-season program is in full swing, with some familiar faces joining the coaching panel. We are thrilled to welcome premiership-winning Crow Renee Forth back to the club. She will support Courtney Cramey in working with our midfielders. Additionally, men’s players Jack Madgen and Kieran Strachan have come on board to lend their expertise.
Thebarton Oval Precinct
We are excited to announce that the Thebarton Oval Precinct has received all necessary development approvals. With detailed designs finalized, construction is set to begin towards the end of the year. We look forward to sharing the updated designs with you soon.
Closing Note
Thanks to you, our members and fans, for your unwavering support. No journey is without challenges, and we are committed to building a men’s football program capable of sustained long-term success. There are no shortcuts, and your support is more important than ever and will never be taken for granted.
