In 1988, Rohde transferred to Melbourne, where he continued his career by playing 117 games and kicking 22 goals. Unfortunately, his playing career was plagued by injuries, leading to his retirement in 1995.

Despite the challenges he faced due to injuries, Rohde’s dedication and skills on the field were evident throughout his time as a player.

Coaching Career

Throughout his professional journey in Australian rules football, Peter Rohde shifted into coaching roles, showcasing his strategic acumen and leadership capabilities. Rohde found success as Norwood’s senior coach, leading the team to a premiership in 1997.

He then moved to the Western Bulldogs, initially serving as an assistant coach before taking on the role of caretaker senior coach in 2002. Rohde was later appointed as the full-time senior coach but was unfortunately sacked in 2004 due to poor team performance.

Following his coaching tenure, Rohde took on the role of Football Operations Manager at Port Adelaide, where he oversaw football operations for a decade, leaving in 2014 with faith in the club’s potential for a premiership.
